How to use GIF editor

A complete online GIF editor. Open an animated GIF, WebP, APNG, a video, or a set of images, then edit it with any of the tools below. Every change goes into one working animation, so you can chain as many edits as you like.

  • Create: make GIFs from images, convert video to GIF, or cut a sprite sheet into frames
  • Transform: resize, crop, rotate, flip, change speed, reverse, boomerang, and cut
  • Decorate: filters and effects, text, meme captions, logo overlays, combine GIFs, and censor areas
  • Output: optimize file size, split into frames, and convert to WebP, APNG, MP4, or WebM

One editor for every GIF tool

This page is part of a full GIF editor. After you apply a change, switch tabs to keep going — crop, then resize, add text, change the speed, and optimize — without downloading and re-uploading in between. Undo and redo work across every tool, and your animation stays loaded if you open another GIF tool page.

Everything runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

GIF editor FAQs

Can I use several GIF tools on the same file?

Yes. Every tool works on one shared animation. Apply a change, then switch tabs to crop, resize, add text, change the speed, and so on. Undo and redo cover every step, and the animation stays loaded if you open another GIF tool page on this site.

Is my GIF uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, editing, and encoding all happen in your browser. The working animation is kept in your browser's storage so you can move between tools, and you can clear it with the New button.

Does the editor add a watermark?

No. Downloads have no watermark and no sign-up is needed.

Which formats can I open and save?

Open GIF, animated WebP, APNG, AVIF, PNG, JPG, MP4, MOV, WebM, or a ZIP of images. Save as GIF, animated WebP, APNG, MP4, WebM, single frames, a ZIP of frames, or a sprite sheet.

How do I make my GIF smaller?

Open the Optimize tab. Lossy compression, fewer colors, and storing only changed areas usually shrink a GIF a lot. Or enter a target size, such as 256 KB, and the editor finds settings that fit. Resizing, cropping, and cutting frames also help.
