How to use AI watermark remover

Remove the watermark from AI-generated images — the Gemini sparkle, the DALL·E colour bar, and the logos, labels, and text that other image generators stamp in a corner — and strip the hidden AI metadata (C2PA Content Credentials, IPTC “AI-generated” labels, and saved prompts). Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded and the tool keeps working offline.

What it handles

Google Gemini / Nano Banana / Imagen — the sparkle logo is reversed mathematically (reverse alpha blending), to recover the underlying image without AI repainting. Compression and rounding can leave artifacts. Both the older and the current sparkle are recognised at common Gemini output sizes, and in resized copies.
OpenAI ChatGPT, GPT Image, and DALL·E 3 — these carry no visible mark, only C2PA Content Credentials metadata, which is removed. DALL·E 2's five-colour bar is detected and filled in.
Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, FLUX, ComfyUI, NovelAI — prompts and generation settings saved inside the file are shown and removed.
Adobe Firefly, Microsoft Copilot and Designer, Meta AI, xAI Grok, Ideogram, Leonardo, Canva, Doubao, Jimeng, Kling, Qwen, Hailuo — metadata labels are removed, and visible logos or text are erased with the brush and an AI fill model.
Anthropic Claude doesn't generate photos or add image watermarks; any Claude-made image you save is cleaned of metadata the same way.

Private and offline

The fill model (MI-GAN, 28 MB) is downloaded from this site the first time you paint over a watermark and kept in your browser, so later removals work without an internet connection. Gemini removal and metadata stripping need no model at all. JPEG, PNG, and WebP files that only need metadata removed are cleaned without re-compressing.

Good to know

Invisible watermarks woven into the pixels, such as Google's SynthID, are not removed. Removing a watermark doesn't change who made an image — label AI images honestly where platforms or the law require it, and only clean images you have the right to use.

How do I remove the Gemini watermark?

Drop the image in. The tool finds the Gemini sparkle in the corner and reverses the way it was blended in, to recover the underlying image without repainting. Compression and rounding can leave artifacts. It works with Nano Banana and Imagen images too, and with older and newer versions of the sparkle.

Does ChatGPT add a watermark to images?

ChatGPT, GPT Image, and DALL·E 3 images have no visible watermark, but they carry C2PA Content Credentials in the file's metadata saying they were made with OpenAI. This tool shows that metadata and removes it. Older DALL·E 2 images have a small five-colour bar, which is erased automatically.

Which AI image generators does it work with?

Gemini, Nano Banana, and Imagen (sparkle removed automatically); ChatGPT, DALL·E, and Sora images; Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, FLUX, Adobe Firefly, Microsoft Copilot and Designer, Meta AI, Grok, Ideogram, Leonardo, Canva, Doubao, Jimeng, Kling, Qwen, and Hailuo. Any other visible logo or text can be painted over and erased.

Does Claude or Anthropic put watermarks on images?

No. Claude doesn't generate photos and doesn't watermark images. Charts or graphics you save from Claude can still be cleaned of metadata here.

Does it remove SynthID or other invisible watermarks?

No. Invisible watermarks such as Google's SynthID are spread through the image's pixels and are not removed by this tool. It removes visible marks and the metadata stored in the file.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Detection, removal, and the AI fill model all run in your browser. After the first use the fill model is stored on your device, so the tool works offline.

Will removing the watermark reduce image quality?

Gemini removal reverses the logo blend mathematically, but compression and rounding can leave artifacts. Images that only need metadata removed are cleaned without re-compressing. Edited images are saved at your chosen quality, or as lossless PNG.

Is it legal to remove an AI watermark?

Rules differ by country and platform. Some laws and sites require AI-generated images to be labelled, and removing a mark doesn't change that. Only clean images you have the right to use, and disclose AI content where required.
